Eyck Zimmer - Non Executive Director - Chef Consultant - National Chef of the Year

Eyck Zimmer was appointed Executive Chef of The Lowry Hotel in July 2005, German born Eyck joins The Lowry Hotel from The Ritz in London. In 2006 he was awarded National Chef of the Year a title he will retain for 2 years. Eyck, is an internationally acclaimed, award- winning chef, and during his time at The Lowry Hotel, he has won Manchester Chef of the Year at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival and The River Restaurant has won restaurant of the year at the Manchester Tourism Awards.

With 40 culinary awards under his belt, Eyck will bring a wealth of international experience to restaurant jobs given that he has worked in some of the best restaurants in the world. Eyck has enjoyed a career that has included posts at some of London ’s most prestigious five star hotels including The Dorchester, The Berkeley, The Lanesborough and Claridges.

Eyck has won a large number of first class industry awards and in 2000 was awarded the prestigious Master of Culinary Arts (MCA), formerly the Meilleur Ouvrier de Grande Bretagne (MOGB) by the Academy of Culinary Arts, which has only ever been won by 13 chefs in the UK.

    Professor David Foskett MBE - Non-Executive Director


    Professor David Fosket is an Associate Dean of TVU's London School of Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure. Professor Foskett is also a member of the Academy of Culinary Arts, and has worked within the hospitality Industry for over 40 years coupled with a career with TVU (Thames Valley University) stretching back 30 years. David sits on various guiding committees advising on hospitality training and education, coupled with conducting extensive research on the trends and growth within the hospitality industry. These are just some of David’s achievements to date:

    • Pioneering the BSc in International Culinary Arts for Practicing Chefs, the first of its kind in the UK
    • Co-authoring 'Practical Cookery' and 'The Theory of Catering' - together these books have sold more than two million copies
    • Pioneering the hugely successful Saturday morning Junior Chef's Academy for local high school children
    • Helping to raise thousands for charity through his association with the Society of Stars and by helping to organise fundraising dinners.
    • Hospitality & Food Consultant for 2 Royal Households
    • Many Gold medal awards
    • 3 times runner up – “Chef of the Year”

    As well as being awarded the prestigious MBE, David is also a judge on the Caterer's Catey Awards, and was awarded a Catey award himself in 2003 for Education and Training - considered to be the Oscars of the Hospitality and Catering Industry. In 2004 David was also awarded a special award from the Craft Guild of Chefs for Outstanding Recognition in 2004.

    Maggie Walker - Managing & Sales Director

    Maggie has worked within the Hospitality Industry for many years, and also has in-depth experience of working with internet companies. She has successfully managed and built teams and companies within the hospitality industry. Maggie went to one of Scotlands top hotel management and catering schools and after leaving started the hard knock road of career climbing within the hospitality industry. Maggie worked for some of the industries top hotel groups as well as hospitality suppliers - working in the UK and internationally in business development, and sales and marketing.. Developing this portal has long been her ambition and Maggie's experience and has provided the perfect platform to realise this dream and project. This dream and hospitality project would not have been realised had it not been for the excellent team, as detailed below. Plus an enormous amount of hard work, enthusiasm, creativity, blood, sweat and tears - but primarily the passion that we all had for this project that made it possible - and the portal came to realisation - we hope you enjoy it. But we do know we can always improve - and every day we are adding, changing and trying to make things easier and better within the hospitality portal, and in each and every site - but please don't hesitate in telling us how we can improve - "our customers are our business"
