Sous Chef – Newly Refurbished Site, Canary Wharf

We are looking for a creative, inventive and enthusiastic Sous Chef to work alongside a fabulous a renowed Head Chef to take responsibility for the production and overseeing of the main kitchen. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and be able to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be creative and enjoy working with the finest and freshest ingredients, be able to cook to the highest standards and be proactive in exceeding the high expectations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all areas of the kitchen operation and will manage food margins and stock control, menu development and menu costings. Additionally they will be responsible for the ongoing training of all kitchen staff in relation to core skills and statutory requirements. Therefore the successful candidate will be highly capable financially in operating within set budgets and to set targets and be able to manage and motivate teams.

The contract is with a prestigious blue chip company based in Canary Wharf. The operation is very busy and dynamic, with the highest of standards in food quality and client service.

The team is flexible in meeting the business needs and hence working hours are varied accordingly. The position is contracted at 40 hours, working Monday to Friday.

If you are dedicated to developing your career and can demonstrate a real feeling for today’s market this job could be for you. You will be a creative and dynamic team player and have a least 2 years experience in a similar role or be a very ambitious Junior Sous Chef within corporate contract catering, 5* Hotels or quality restaurants.

Up to £24,000 per annum (depending on experience)
