Sous Chef

The Langdale Estate is set in 35 acres of woodland & waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  The Estate comprises a 52 bedroom hotel, 16 bedroom boutique hotel, 100 timeshare units,  Wainwrights Inn, Stove Restaurant and Bar and Brimstone Spa.

 

Stove is a multi-generational restaurant which offers something for everyone all day and evening merging great indoor and outdoor spaces. The Wine Room is a quiet oasis for adults, the Mezzanine is a relaxing space with views of the hills, the open kitchen is a theatre and the bar is the place to be.  The menu is made up of modern and traditional dishes featuring seasonal and the finest local produce.

We are looking for a Sous Chef to help run Stove under the guidance of the Head Chefs.  You will be passionate about food with a desire to make creative, quality dishes.  We generally have about 600 guests on site at any one time, and it is the job of all our kitchens to provide a wide variety of food that will encourage our guests to visit the restaurant time and time again.  Stove is very popular with our guests so the ability to deliver quality food in high volume and work under pressure is essential.

As well as helping with the day to day running of the kitchen and deputising in the Head Chefs absence, we need the Sous Chef to help encourage, guide, mentor and instil a sense of pride in junior team members.   You will help maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment and have knowledge of HACCP and COSHH.   You will have experience of food purchasing, storage and stock control.  You will help the Head Chefs to ensure the brigade had high culinary standards.

This is a live out role and access to own transport would be necessary.
