At GAIL's, we refer to each other as Breadheads and that goes for our bakery teams, all the way through to our support teams in Head Office. Many new Breadheads join our bakery teams with very little or no experience of working with bread or coffee and we find joy in teaching people new skills that will set them up for a successful career in hospitality. We're continuing to invest in our training, and we support our teams to RISE with GAIL's.
In the last three months there has been over 100 promotions across our bakery teams, and we continue to support the development of every Breadhead working with us.
Our management teams take care of the general running of our bakeries, with a focus on coaching their teams and being a positive asset to their local neighbourhood. Creating supportive and encouraging environments for their teams to succeed, so we can positively impact every community we find ourselves in.
We also have internal development programmes, such as ‘Top Crust ’which allows high-performing Team Leaders, Assistant Bakery Managers and Bakery Managers to develop their skills and go for promotions.
The kitchen is at the heart of every bakery at GAIL's and without our highly skilled Head Bakers and Kitchen Team Members, we'd lose the core of what we do. Our kitchen team ensure that our pastries are baked fresh every morning and displayed ready for the first customer through our doors, as well as maintaining product availability throughout the day. We provide full training for these roles, with detailed information and practical processes to help you learn the GAIL's way. If you enjoy early starts, craft baking and working collaboratively in fast-paced environments - this one's for you.
Our dedicated coffee teams are passionate about speciality coffee, efficiency and creating connections with customers where first-name basis is not unusual.
Our Head Baristas are exceptionally skilled, not only in producing best in class coffee but developing those around them. Some of which have even gone on to represent us at the UK Barista Championships.
If you're looking for a career as a Barista, all you will need is an aptitude to learn and a passion for coffee. Our coffee team provide full, expert training on all areas of our coffee set up, from understanding your machinery to intricate latte art.
FRONT OF HOUSE
Our Team Members are the first port of call for our customer's journey through our bakeries. Our FOH teams create a sense of community through their attention to detail, personality and ability to help in any given situation. This role is a fantastic opportunity for anyone just starting out in their career or the hospitality industry, with plenty of development paths available. No experience required, just a can-do attitude, a winning smile and willing to learn.
TRAINING & ONBOARDING
Every Breadhead that joins us at GAIL's is given structured, detailed training on every aspect of bakery life. As well as on-site training, you will also complete compulsory online modules on numerous topics from Health & Safety, Food Regulations and Inclusion & Diversity in the workplace. We want to set everyone up for success and our passionate Learning & Development department work closely with Management teams to create a smooth transition into your new role and support you with anything you need going forward.
