The Royal Oak
At Hippo Inns we want to ensure our pubs are one of a kind within the neighbourhood. Just a short stroll from Twickenham station and you’ll arrive at The Royal Oak. Spread over two floors, downstairs you’ll find a classic, relaxed pub complete with wood fire and spectacularly fresh Truman’s Raw beer, which sits proudly above the bar in two impressive copper tanks. Upstairs is the Roundhead or the Cavalier Room. Our intimate dining space and large open lounge are both sumptuously decorated, as perfect for that cosy dinner as they are for a full knees up. At The Royal Oak, we’re a small team dedicated to delivering great food and drink at a sensible price in glorious surroundings.
The Colton Arms
The Colton is a true West London gem. Run by Dorothy and Norman, together with their son Jonathon for 50 years, the Colton became a hub of the community. After 50 years left relatively untouched, The Colton was in need of a little TLC. Rupert, and his wife Jo have lovingly restored the pub, preserving the character and country pub charm The Colton is famed for.
The Colton Arms is a village local in the heart of West London, with its copper bar tops, wood panelling and open fires. It’s warming in winter and convivial in summer. It’s the ultimate hideaway for a summer drink in the seclusion of the walled garden or cosying down by an open fire. Your secret unspoilt little corner of London.
The Eagle

Spread over two floors, downstairs you’ll find a classic, relaxed pub complete with wood fire and spectacularly fresh Truman’s Raw beer, which sits proudly above the central bar in two impressive copper tanks. The Eagle is currently the only place in London you can buy tank fresh Truman’s Raw tank beer and we think that’s pretty special! Upstairs is the Spirit Station and Cocktail Cupboard. Our glamorous dining space and intimate cocktail lounge are both sumptuously decorated, as perfect for that cosy dinner as they are for a full knees up. The food showcases the best of seasonal British produce with an intriguing Bavarian twist, pairing perfectly with our fresh beer. The Signal
At The Signal we want to be a reflection of the needs of our local community. On any given day there is always a diverse mix of people to be found in The Signal, from mums with their babies to local musicians and artists at the bar. We believe that is what makes The Signal so special. Our food harks back to the ale taverns of old which revolves open fire cooking from our English charcoal rotisserie and grill to produce a stripped back menu. It relies on us using the best possible ingredients, looking after them well, and cooking them simply and respectfully.
The Duke of Sussex
At The Duke of Sussex we are a reflection of the needs of our local community. Our food is simple and harks back to the days when the British Pub first came about, inspired by the Alehouses & Taverns with the open fire cooking that were used at that time. The Duke is famed for its charcoal spit roasted chicken which is brined and marinated for 24 hours capturing a beautiful charcoal flavour. We use the best fresh seasonal British produce we can find, through our carefully curated list of suppliers.
The Duke is warm and welcoming with an open fire, comfortable seating and a private dining room upstairs. Outside the Duke you’ll find one of the best beer gardens in Waterloo, perfect for an after work drink al fresco. The leafy garden has plenty of seating and is covered with heaters and lanterns for the winter months.
The Black Horse
We have reinstated the pub’s original name The Black Horse established in 1893 when it was originally part of the auspices of Kingston upon Thames. The area was fundamentally agricultural with Norbiton common being enclosed under the 1808 Kingston enclosure act and the land allotted to primarily free hold dairy farmers. In the early 1800’s London Road was a fashionable area for commercial purposes yet still set amongst the fields of the countryside. The Black Horse became the hub of the area for farmers and the like.
The George
One of the few remaining pubs on the island, at The George we want to be a reflection of the needs of our local community. We offer fantastic food focusing on simple, good quality ingredients – doing the British classics well, complimented by an excellent range of beers and hand selected wines. On the ground floor find the bustling public bar, relaxed saloon bar and bright, airy conservatory opening out onto a vine covered beer garden. The George is everything an East End pub should be, warm and welcoming, great beers and serving a local favourite Maureen’s Pie & Mash.
The Lillie Langtry
The pub has a very homely style, welcoming all who live and work nearby as well as becoming a food and drink destination. The first floor is a glamorous Victorian cocktail lounge, soft and luxurious in character. Together with my wife Jo, we have created something we think you will all enjoy. Here’s hoping!
The Islington Town House
The Town House takes pride of place on the point where the Liverpool Road meets the bustling, vibrancy of Chapel Street market. The pub is split into airy lounges and snug corners, so you’ll always find the perfect spot to settle in, whether you’re staying for a bite to eat or just stopping by for a few drinks. Upstairs you’ll discover our speakeasy style micro Cocktail bar and up on the third floor you’ll find the spacious attic, the ultimate spot for a party. The Town House prides itself on its eclectic range of beers and ales which pair perfectly with our fresh British food.
The Grafton
The Grafton is a proper boozer for the Kentish Town community to call home. The pub has four areas, beginning downstairs with a traditional Victorian pub space wrapped around a huge central horseshoe bar. Climbing the stairs you’ll reach a small ‘Boardroom’ with stylish paneled walls, large central table and comfy seating, which is perfect for meetings and private gatherings. Also on the first floor is a large retro-styled upper bar with beautifully tiled paneling and a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. Finally an all-weather roof terrace leading from both the Upstairs Bar and Boardroom provides a great space to soak up the sun or shelter from the rain.
The Blue Anchor

This iconic riverside pub is steeped in history. George 1st was King of England and Louis XV was on the Throne of France when The Blue Anchor was first granted its licence. However, records show The ‘Blew Anchor’ had been selling beer for many decades before that…
To give you an idea of just how old The Blue Anchor is, we celebrated our first 50 years as a licensed pub when The American Declaration of Independence had yet to be signed, Captain Cook had only just found his way to Australia and the French revolution was still some twenty years away! The Blue Anchor is in the original village of Hammer Smith, first mentioned in 1294 which was built along the foreshore on either side of Hamersmythstrete, now known as Queen Caroline Street, just under the bridge.
The White Haus
Start the Haus party early at breakfast or brunch with breakfast pastries, fresh smoothies and a croque madame or monsieur. From schnitzels and sauerkraut to Swiss beer-battered fish and chips and sharing boards of Baked Mont d’Or, pickles and potatoes, the all-day menu is all about comfortingly familiar dishes with a European twist, using seasonal ingredients.
Spread over three floors, The White Haus transports you to the mountains with rustic timber chalet-style décor, a roaring fireplace, cosy corners complete with sheepskin throws, ‘snowflake’ chandeliers and a bookable cable car for six. Old skis, mittens, photography and quirky memorabilia comes courtesy of the Ski Club of Great Britain whilst a full-size TV will screen old ski movies and winter sporting events.

The Builders Arms has been known to Rupert & Jo Clevely since 1999 and it has finally returned to the family, here at Hippo.
